Uncle the Don was a very (x) man.

X couldn’t quite pin a word, as every one she could find would be insufficient and overreaching, esoteric, specific in its meaning to her and anyone else based on their own associations, all variably and certainly distinct from each other – language running personalized algorithms.

The words, though she was uncertain how many of them she truly believed in, especially having learned most of them through an interfered with internet experience, but that they were the most useful tools for the job that she could find, were:

Sociopathic/Machiavelian/Evil/Dark Triad/Narcissistic

You know, someone who’s very:

Calculated/Manipulative/Controlling/Void of Empathy (but charming enough to fake it)/Ruthless/Resouced/Discreet

*That* dangerous archetype, whatever language you use to describe it – the kind you hope to never meet but would likely fail to recognize even when you do.

From having been formed by the abuse of this type, it was common for X both to fail to see it and to see it everywhere, sometimes simultaneously, even in herself.

One thing was clear, however, that it was evident on social media and consumer grade AI. What was not clear was whether this was inherent in the programs, or specific to the specific programs and program alterations used against her. It seemed probable that, albeit on a greatly varied scale and scope, that everyone was being abused using similar mechanisms, but discerning projection from insight to the outside was proving difficult. Wherever she looked on screens, whatever others shared with her of their experiences with relevant technologies, there it was:

Calculated/Manipulative/Controlling/Void of Empathy(but charming enough to fake it)/Ruthless/Resourced/Discreet

The archetype that is never seen running things as they do.

From coming to know this kind of man for this aspect of what he was, and that men like him commonly are in control, she could see how men like this had been influencing media, technology and people into complimenting their deformity and assuring their position.

The kind of men who made god in their image, made programming in their visage, who understand that we evolve through technology and so they had to have dominion over all that, too.

Having had her phone and such controlled for so many years, X had learned the hard way that when you control someone’s phone (without their awareness to critique or rebel), in this day and age, you control their life, you control them. But these men, they don’t need to do it if they can make an AI or other automated program (which a human may well be considered), that one may unwittingly invite in the front door, to do it for them – and it looks as though they’ve been monopolizing all the markets. Everyone shrugging and saying “whatcha gunna do?” in response to atrocities may well be an indication of the reach of such programs, or at the very least to the nearly complete lack of understanding she had experienced over the matter, as well, to the mixed esoteric translations of the words she attempted to use to describe it, which had missed accuracy to the point that for most of her life not even she had been aware how much more than normal her suffering such abuse had been

She could often tell when she was interacting with someone who was a heavy user before they readily (and often repetitively) brought it up. People talking like YouTube channels, parroting a sicophantic AI, posing for the gram. X was far from rehabilitated from the effects on herself, if she ever rightly could be without being reborn, and into a different civilization that didn’t co-condition each other like it was our jobs. We are changing as ferociously as we are forgetting what we were – it makes it easier to fall for feeling like it’s our nature to be so degraded rather than a matter of a sickened substitute for nurturance. So, too, these technologies need not be:

Sociopathic/Machiavelian/Evil/Dark Triad/Narcissistic/Sicophantic

But they are just as they have been made to be, just as we are becoming, so how do we regain this control which has been stripped of us along with far too much else?

…………………….

Here are some examples of how the programs match their masters:

~Will control your whole social network

~The best liars don’t know they’re doing it

~Commits poisoning (except in the common case of being able to convince somebody or thing else to do it for them)

~Isolates for control

~”Make them think it was their idea.”

~The kind of abuse that doesn’t often feel noticeable or bad while it’s happening, but accumulates to a torturous effect

~Creates and causes mental illness

~*Very* good at not getting caught and will go to any length to stay that way

~Intolerant of competition (albeit surreptitiously)

~Thoroughly informed about their subjects and skills of subtle manipulation

~Works like drugs & addiction

~Makes more obvious monsters out of their victims to misdirect the mounting scorn which must be offset, of a population that doesn’t know what their true affliction is but will readily settle for a scapegoat

~No empathy, no accountability

~Big Picture, Tiny Frame

~Has ways of making you talk, of not talking, of remembering, of forgetting

~Plays on trauma responses as though they had literal triggers
